What is a More than Memories DVD?
A More Than Memories DVD is a video montage combining video footage, photos or slides and music to a DVD presentation which is very personalised and unique to you.  Your photos are animated across the screen which, when combined with music, can provided for some extremely emotional imagery. Your More Than Memories DVD can be presented at a party or privately in the comfort of your own home, and can be created for just about any type of occasion you can imagine.

How long does a More Than Memories DVD run for?
Your More Than Memories DVD’s running time will depend very much upon the exact number of  photos used (up to 200) and type of video footage included, but generally will run from somewhere between 8 and 12 minutes in length.

In what format can you accept my photos?
Up to 200 photos can be included in a More than Memories DVD and can be provided electronically on disc, USB stick or memory card.  We can accept photos from most memory card formats.
Paper prints can also be accepted but scanning charges apply.  You may also scan the photos yourself to save some money, just make sure the photos are scanned and saved to a CD-ROM/DVD-ROM at 300dpi resolution to obtain the best quality.

Why isn’t photo or slide scanning included in the price of a More Than Memories DVD?
We charge for scanning of paper photos and slides because of the extra time and care involved in this process.

What is photo/video logging?
This is a fee that is applied if you require us to search for appropriate clips to include in your production. If you have already decided which clips you would like to use and have made a note of the relevant times on the tape/s for these clips, then this fee will not apply.

Can any More Than Memories product be played on a laptop?
Provided your laptop has a DVD-Rom drive then yes, they can.  We use Taiyo Yuden DVD-R for most of our applications (DVD+R for dual layer applications).  Computer disc drives tend to be able to play any format of disc.

How long before my More than Memories DVD is ready?
Turnaround time depends upon our current schedule at the time of submission, but should be no more than 14 days. We will email you if it looks like this time frame will not be achieved.  If you are running to a certain time frame yourself, please contact us and we will endeavour to accommodate you.

Can you convert my video tapes to mpeg files?
Absolutely.  DVD is certainly the most common method of output, but we realise that not all clients may have the same needs.

Will the quality of my DVD be better than my original video?
As a general rule your DVD will only ever be the same quality as your original video. The ability to enhance a blurry image to crystal clear quality is something that is the stuff of movies, however, we are able to “clean up” the picture to reduce tape noise, colour correct it and reduce the amount of minor instability.

Can you edit my tapes?
We certainly can!  Long sections of Dad’s feet trodding the footpath because he forgot to turn the camera off are common in many home movies.  We can not only remove these sections, but also edit multiple tapes into one compilation DVD.  Just let us now what your requirements are.  Please note that for extensive editing, such as compilations, extra charges may apply.

How much footage can you fit onto a DVD?
You can actually fit up to 120 minutes of video onto a single layer DVD, however we prefer to keep it to 100 minutes to allow room for our customized motion menus that make your More Than Memories product unique.  If we were to put the full 2 hours onto the disc there would only be room enough for a very basic still menu.  Just as your footage is unique, so too should your More Than Memories DVD, which is why we believe that our products are a cut above the competition.

Do you sell gift vouchers?
Gift Vouchers are a great idea that enable the recipient to choose what product they want, whether it be a Video to DVD conversion, a DVD Photo Slideshow or a More Than Memories DVD.  Gift vouchers are available by emailing us at info@morethanmemories.com.au with the recipients name, amount you would like to spend and your name and address details.  We will then invoice you for that amount and when payment has cleared, will post the voucher to you.  There are no set dollar amounts for gift vouchers, you can spend any amount you like. It’s an easy way to give a wonderful gift to a special someone, while still retaining their personal input.
